In the last couple of weeks I’ve had emails from people recommending vegetarian / veggie friendly restaurants around Sydney (Maya Masala and Maya Da Dhaba on Cleveland St., Peace Harmony on King Steet and the Nepalese Kitchen in Surry Hills).

Bring it on!

Promise I’ll make a special effort to review Maya Masala and Peace Harmony in the next month or so. If you want to send a tip email me at veggiefriendly[at]gmail[.]com.

Oh, oh I can so back up the Maya Da Dhaba recommendation. They are cheap and delicious and make a really tasty, fresh masala dosa. I think their speciality must be Southern Indian food because of that but I might be wrong.

Mmm, this sounds good. I’ve been craving Indian food recenly (OK, so that’s not unsual) and have been trying to think of excuses to hit the Cleveland strip. I am going to blame it on research!

OK, cool for those in Sydney, how about Canberra? my absolute fav restaurant is ‘The Kingsland’, in Dickson- a fabbo feed for cheap as bucks, AND absolutely vegan. it is so fine to find a place where you can eat everything on the menu.

Glad you asked! I’ve been thinking of doing a top 3 list every couple of weeks where people can list their favourite types of restaurants in their home city.

But back to Canberra: Kingsland has been around for ages and the staff are really sweet.

I really like Au Lac, which is just down the road from Kingsland in Dickson. It’s a Vietnamese vegetarian Buddhist restaurant. I love the lemograss tofu, the papaya salad was also great.

Bernadette’s in Ainslie also does lovely vegetarian food, though not so cheap.

My other favourite was Tandoor House in Kingston. It’s not vegetarian but like most Indian places had a good selection of veggie options.

[…] I’ve been promising to review Maya Masala for five months awhile now. And frankly, there’s no excuse for my tardiness. I’m a vegetarian. My favourite food is Indian. Going to Sydney’s premiere Indian vegetarian restaurant is a treat. […]

[…] year, a Veggie Friendly reader tipped me off to the Nepalese Kitchen on Crown Street. I’ve been searching for an excuse to go there ever […]
