It’s okay, I suppose. Decent but nothing spectacular. I had a really ordinary meal there once (flavourless, undersized and served less-than-warm) and haven’t been back since.

I’ve been to the Vegie Bar a few times - in fact my fourth post about it is due to be published on my blog tomorrow! (Here are links to my other posts: one, two and three.)

My 2c: it’s got an extensive and varied menu, the portions are generally cheap and large, and it’s a cut above fast food. But only a cut.

I can’t believe Ed ad I ave never posted about it - I have to concur with the previous two comments though, it’s best features are that it is fast and the portions are large but generally not spectacular, although definitely vegetarian. I find the food often over-spiced or under-cooked and there is a little too much reliance on the tinned tomato to cover up the use of cheap ingredients and undercooked chickpeas.

Fair enough. I guess when you have so many great restaurants it is hard to get to them all!

Completely disagree… Been going there for years and I’ve only ever had one bad meal (a mushroom risotto). Other than that they’re amazing in my opinion. Mostly great staff, extremely fast service and food that’s just as good as any other restaraunt I’ve been to on Brunswick St at half the price (that’s without taking into account the portion sizes)!

If anyone goes I highly reccommend the Mee Goreng… You could share it between 2 people (maybe get an entree to share as well) and it only costs about $11
